I attended a webinar on Thursday that discussed “An Online Resource That Simplifies Access to Agronomic Information.” The resource is the Plant Management Network.
The idea behind this site is that first it puts up information that was not available online. Second, those who maintain this site filter the information so that you know that the information has been vetted and is reliable. The site offers a papers, journals, proceedings, webcasts, and images. The image license seems a little too restrictive to be useful.
The downside is that this is a subscription. site. The subscription price is not terribly high, but I’m not sure we’d use it enough to justify a subscription.
The Plant Management Network seems to be a valuable resource but I don’t think I’ll be subscribing now. I will wait until I have a specific need for some of their information before I sign up.
